Using School Data

• You may use School Data for teaching and learning, at no cost, without registering.
• You may print anything you make and use it in lessons, displays and books.
• Work created with School Data belongs to whoever made it. No claim is made over it.
• Please do not attempt to disrupt the service for others, or to use it to store or share material that is unlawful or harmful.

Looking after your work

School Data does its best to protect what you make: it keeps a recovery copy, it warns before anything is replaced, and it lets you undo fifty steps. None of that is a substitute for saving.

Work saved to this browser lives only in that browser, on that computer. It will be lost if the browser's data is cleared, if the device is reimaged, or if a managed profile is reset — all of which happen routinely on school networks. For anything you need to keep, save it as a file or to your school cloud account.

Availability

School Data is provided as it is, with no guarantee of availability. It is a static website with no server-side component, so once it has loaded it will keep working even if the site itself becomes unreachable — but a school should not depend on it for anything time-critical without a saved copy of the work.

Cloud accounts

Signing in is optional. If you do sign in, your use of Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive is governed by your own agreement with that provider, and the work is stored in your own account under your school's existing arrangements. School Data operates no server that receives or stores your work.

Pupils should use the account their school has given them. If you are not sure which account to use, ask your teacher.

Liability

School Data is offered without warranty of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, no liability is accepted for loss of work, loss of data, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from its use. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Accessibility commitment

School Data aims to conform to WCAG 2.2 at Level AA throughout, and meets a number of Level AAA criteria as well. If any part of it is not usable by a child in your class, that is treated as a fault to be fixed rather than a limitation to be worked around. Please report it.

Changes

These terms may be updated. Any change that affects how work is stored or what is sent anywhere will be described in the privacy notice as well.
